United Nations High-Level Meeting on AIDS, New York 10-11 June 2008 (Intro Stijn)

On Friday June 6 I arrived in New York. I'm here because I'm a member of the Civil Society Task Force that prepares the Civil Society involvment in the United Nations General Assembly on AIDS that takes place 10-11 June.

The task force (which has 12 members) was called for by UNAIDS. In this group of 12 (gender and regionally balanced) I represent the key population "people who use drugs" (and because of the gender and region balance also "Europe" and "men").

In the days coming I'll make short interviews with other Civil Society Activists who are present here to be involved and try to have impact on the nation states policy makers. So you'll hear from me soon again.
